There has long been a need in orchestras and at training colleges for a practical and easily accessible edition of the orchestral positions presented at auditions. The content of this booklet goes back to suggestions of the German Music Council and is based on statistical surveys of the German Association of Orchestras (DOV). (DOV) and on the editors' many years of professional experience as orchestral musicians and university pedagogues.
