In Bulgarian dance, the composer was inspired by Bulgarian folklore, which offers the Central European a lot of exotic things: the irregular rhythm (e.g. in 7/8 or 9/8 time), unusual, oriental-sounding modes and the interesting sound of the folk music instruments.
